FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

What is A Day of Giving

  • A Day of Giving is a telethon fundraiser for SPCA Monterey County that airs in March. In the weeks leading up to this special day for the animals, SPCA Staff, SPCA Volunteers, and enthusiastic Community Members are coming together as teams to raise funds for our work to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome homeless, neglected and abused pets, horses, and barn animals, and protect orphaned and injured wildlife.

When and Where is A Day of Giving?

  • In 2024 A Day of Giving telethon will air on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 from 6am to 8pm on KSBW TV8 and Central Coast ABC. Tune-in to hear inspiring rescue stories, learn how the SPCA helps pets and wildlife, and give to support the heart of animal rescue and protection in Monterey County since 1905.

I am an SPCA Staff, SPCA Volunteer, or Community Fundraiser, what do I do with the cash and check donations that I collect?

  • Please mail them to SPCA Monterey County. Enclose donations in an envelope and include a donation form detailing all donations. Make sure to include your name and contact information to make sure you and your team are credited for your fundraising. Write "ATTN: A Day of Giving, Noel Freitas" on the envelope. (Contact our Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Support Team at DayOfGiving@spcamc.org to request pre-addressed envelopes for your fundraising!)

Who do I contact if a donation does not appear on my fundraising page?

  • Email DayOfGiving@spcamc.org with the name of the person who donated and the amount (if known). We can look up the donation in our database to determine how it was credited and quickly add it to your page.

How is the money I raise used?

  • One-hundred percent of the funds raised from this event go directly to the operating expenses of our animal shelter and its services, which include a spay/neuter clinic, a pet behavior hotline, humane outreach, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation and many other vital programs. We care for over 10,000 cats, dogs, horses, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, exotic pets, wild animals and more every year.

What is the deadline for turning in my donations?

  • All of the money you raise needs to be turned in by Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 12:00 pm to be counted toward you and your fundraising totals.

ON BEHALF OF ALL OF THE ANIMALS IN OUR CARE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
